"I was experimenting with
combining rendered elements with graphic form in this piece .. sort of
Art Nouveau morphing into representationalism. You can see the influence
of Alphonse Mucha in the figure, the hair and the background seaweed,
for instance. If I were to re-do this piece today I'd put a bit more sinuous
flow into the fish tail, but otherwise I'm happy with the effect." — Jon Fraze |
