"This piece illustrated
a story about how voice telephony seemed to be in its demise in the face
of competition from more profitable data telecommunications. The telephone
itself is a stock photo which I altered in Photoshop to look as if it
were trembling. The shadow of death — drawn in Photoshop
using a hooded monk as reference — is hovering over, threatening.
But the line-active light is on (accomplished and exaggerated
with Photoshop filters), to indicate that the phone is not dead yet."
