"This image is one of a
pair of illustrations commissioned for a story in the Christian Research
Journal. The story was an attempt by Christian apologists to refute the
apologetics of certain Mormon scholars who claim that the Maya were the
people of the Book of Mormon. This image portrays a typical Maya warrior
according to the best available archaeological research, and was intended
to point out (in contrast with its companion piece) the obvious differences
between Maya culture and artifacts with those of the Old World." — Jon Fraze |
