"This work was commissioned
as an album cover (now on CD) by Thad Bosley through Frontline Records.
The original idea of this Christian musician was to show Christ returning
in glory in the skies, from a space-art perspective.
"The painting originally showed Christ and his angels coming through the starburst, but Mr. Bosley decided this was too blatant and asked to have it painted out. I wish this work had been done in the digital era, so I could have kept it in the original and removed it in Photoshop, since as I remember I actually liked the image as it was. "What I didn't care for (and still don't) was the decision to represent the form of the United States glowing more brightly than the rest of the world, demonstrating that the US is a light to the world. I feel it detracts from the illustration., and I'm not too comfortable with the implications. Overall though, I'm happy with the outcome." — Jon Fraze |
