"This was a cover for a collection of wedding songs produced by Maranatha! Music. The creative director was Alex MacDougall, but he gave his freelancers very free rein creatively.
"The logo I inherited from 'Volume 1,' but everything else is original. I also did the back cover and liner notes. The photo I didn't take myself, but I did comp up the concept and directed the photo-shoot. (If I were to do this project today I might be able to convince the creative director to let me do the photograph as well.) The repeating illustration of a rose was also mine, and was intended to give the impression of gift wrap.
"The basic form of the layout looks surprisingly similar to the former piece, a fact which I never noticed until I set them side by side on this page. I presented a number of other concepts, but this is the one that Alex bought. I don't think I was stuck in any rut." —Jon Fraze
