"This was a dual
interview with Mark Wegleitner of Verizon and Bill Smith of BellSouth.
We had to get two photos from completely different source which
would work together in the cover and the spread. Since we had
an existing client-supplied photograph we decided to have the
Wegleitner photo reflect the Smith pose, with similar lighting.
"The headline breaks into the story at the bottom,
and the color of the headline text and the 'long distance' box
reflect the color of Smith's tie. The graduated cast shadows help
tie the photos into the text area and connect the elements of
