"This cover story
on Touch America allowed us to assign a photoshoot with CEO Bob
Gannon on location in Montana. For this story we chose to use
a Wild West style font for the headline and pull quotes in keeping
with the frontier theme. Production restrictions didn't allow
us to cut much text from the opening spread. At full size in press
it was fairly readable in spite of the mass of small black on
blue body text. By breaking the spread up into two main graphic
areas I think the mass of text becomes easier to plow through,
since it creates psychological breaks."—Jon Fraze
