"This opening spread obviously goes
with the cover design outlined above. I've included it
in part to demonstrate how cover art was used with the
story. This follows my ideals for opening story spreads
by the use of large, appealing, and graphically strong
photography, a color palette which is picked up in the
photograph, and the tying together of charts
into a single block to help define page areas.
"As mentioned above, the photo-illustration
was a melding of stock photography with my own photography.
Charts were done in Adobe Illustrator.
I would have preferred a longer headline for design reasons;
and the 'online exclusive' box is an inherited design
from The Net Economy magazine, which was taken
