"This map was
one of a continuing series showing the progressive expansion of the regions
of various regional carriers approved to carry long distance. I used a
textured relief map from a stock source as the basis, altered considerably
to keep the relief from overwhelming the map form. From this I created
a layered template to demarcate the necessary regions with colors and
layer effects in Photoshop. I needed to change the map periodically, so
I made certain the layered file remained available." —Jon Fraze
