"Done for a life drawing
class. Don Lagerberg was the instructor, and he had an illustrator's sense
of art. He would typically bring props into class along with the model,
and encourage the students to work one or more prop into the drawing.
On this day he brought in (among other items) a stuffed eagle. This drawing
was my solution to the assignment. "I'll grant you the figure doesn't quite seem to be sitting properly on the eagle's back. I wouldn't want to be riding a flying creature like that, at least. And there's no good explanation for the nudity, other than the fact that it was a life drawing assignment. But I'm happy with the modeling and sense of life in the image." — Jon Fraze |
